Relationships are the inter-personal connections that make up a large part of your life. Whether they’re with friends, family, coworkers, or partners, relationships are important to your emotional health and well-being.

Healthy relationships allow you to grow and thrive. They give you a support system that encourages you to be the best version of yourself. They teach you lessons and help you to see the world from a new perspective. Loving someone who believes in you and is there to cheer you on gives you the confidence and strength to take risks and chase your dreams.

There are many different types of relationships, and the way in which you manage them can be as unique as your personality. However, all healthy relationships consist of communication, intimacy, mutual understanding, trust, and deep love. Your partner should be able to touch your soul and light up that fire in you. They should be attracted to you, but not so much that they feel threatened by your individuality and freedom.

Intimacy in a relationship often refers to sex, but it can also be based on shared hobbies, spending time together, or simply enjoying each other’s company. It should be respectful and mutual, and you both need to be comfortable with (respectful) disagreements.
